(FamilyRetirementClub.com)- Democratic Governor of Montana, Steve Bullock, was forced to fire a campaign staffer after accusations of writing racist, homophobic, and sexist tweets. The deputy press secretary for the Democratic campaign, Evan McCullers, published a series of tweets between 2012 and 2014 that were racist, sexist, and generally “problematic.”
McCullers was fired pretty quickly after journalists uncovered the tweets.
The tweets were pretty crazy, too. These weren’t benign and comical tweets that were misconstrued, as is usually the case when leftists get outraged. These were actually pretty extreme tweets that demeaned African Americans, and even referred to women as “manure.” The former staffer also laughed off rape.
In one tweet from 2013, McCullers said, “#LiberalTips2AvoidRape. Like it. Then it won’t be rape.”
What kind of sicko says something like that?
In another tweet, he said, “Girls who try to be pretty but still look like they belong in a pile of manure < #getouttahere #youretoouglyformyeyes.”
He even expressed his hatred for gay people, using the word “f*ggot” in a derogatory way.
Who says things like that? Democrats always claim that Republicans are sexist, but when is the last time you saw a Trump supporter (or campaign official) say things as extreme and vile as this?
McCullers owned up to the tweets and issued a public statement apologizing, not that it really matters. Democrats don’t think anyone deserves forgiveness, so even if he has changed and is genuinely sorry, it’s unlikely he’ll ever worked for a Democratic campaign ever again.
“I especially owe an apology to the women, people of color and members of the LGBTQ+ community that these posts have rightly offended, and to my family and others who will receive undeserved negative attention because of my actions,” he said. “More importantly, I will continue to listen to those with different life experiences than mine and learn from my mistakes that cause others pain I could never understand, just as I have in the years since those hurtful words.”
McCuller’s awful comments could damage Bullock’s campaign to beat incumbent Republican Senator Steve Daines in the November elections. Just last week, the Daines campaign released an ad that slammed Bullock for supporting the “liberal mob” that continues to destroy American cities, use explosives in attempts to destroy courthouses, and block highways and roads all over the country.
