Politico Co-Founder Doesn’t Want Justice For Tara Reade; He Just Wants Joe Biden To Win

(FamilyRetirementClub.Com)- Many have called for a probe into Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, after a former staffer brought forth accusations of sexual assault against him.
While conservatives were the first to call for a full inquiry into the situation, Biden himself asked the Secretary of the Senate to search for and release any information regarding a complaint Tara Reade has said she filed regarding the sexual harassment and sexual assault incident from 1993.
Liberals have been a little more hesitant to call for a full-fledged inquiry, though many prominent Democrats have said Reade deserves to be heard, while at the same time fully supporting Biden.
The New Times published an editorial over the weekend that called on the Democratic National Committee to fully investigate Reade’s allegations. But a former congressional correspondent for the paper thinks that would be the absolute worst idea.
In his own letter to the editor that was published Monday, Martin Tolchin wrote of the Times’ opinion:
“I totally disagree with this editorial. I don’t want an investigation. I want a coronation of Joe Biden.”
Tolchin worked for the New York Times for 21 years in the Washington, D.C., bureau. He more recently co-founded a newspaper called The Hill, as well as the popular news site Politico.
He, like many other Democrats, are afraid that something may come out of releasing Biden’s records that would look unfavorable to him — even if what is revealed isn’t proof of a sexual assault. Such potential information could be damaging to Biden’s campaign against President Donald Trump.
And Tolchin seems to say in his opinion piece that he doesn’t care what Biden may or may not have done. He only cares about Biden winning the election. His letter reads:
“Would he (Biden) make a great president? Unlikely. Would he make a good president? Good enough. Would he make a better president than the present occupant? Absolutely. I don’t want justice, whatever that may be. I want a win, the removal of Donald Trump from office, and Mr. Biden is our best chance.
“Suppose an investigation reveals damaging information concerning his relationship with Tara Reade or something else, and Mr. Biden loses the nomination to Senator Bernie Sanders or someone else with a minimal chance of defeating Mr. Trump. Should we really risk the possibility?”
The answer that most people with a conscience and strong morality would give you is: Absolutely, you should risk it.
Isn’t justice above all else one of the messages of the #MeToo movement that the Democrats have backed so fervently? Isn’t that the message the liberals touted when they said Brett Kavanaugh was unfit to be a Supreme Court justice because of sexual assault claims similar to those of Biden?
Apparently, liberals only want justice when it doesn’t threaten one of their own. Justice for all, as long as the people being punished are Republicans. Justice for only some if the accused is a Democrat.
