(FamilyRetirementClub.com) – Former Vice President Joe Biden is set to win the Democratic presidential nomination, despite showing clear signs of cognitive decline. It’s a result of being 77 years old!
If he wins the presidency in the November elections, Biden will become the oldest president in U.S. history. Incredibly, if he’d won in the 2016 election, he still would have taken that title. President Trump eventually took the title on Inauguration Day, at 70 years old. If Biden wins the November election, he will be 78 years old on inauguration day.
In August 2008, The New York Times ran a story that questioned Biden’s ability to run for president should he choose to do so once President Barack Obama left office. In it, the article said, “at his age, it appears unlikely that Mr. Biden would be in a position to run for president should Mr. Obama win and serve two terms.”
“Shorn of any remaining ambition to run for president on his own, he could find himself in a less complex political relationship with Mr. Obama than most vice presidents have with their presidents.”
Not only that, but Nate Silver of FiveThirtyEight also said that Obama “selected a Vice President in Joe Biden who, because of his age, probably will not have Presidential aspirations in 2016.”
The assessments seemed fair. At such an advanced age, being just a few years older than President Trump is significant. Despite the president’s age, he has proven his ability to carry out his duties as president and do so in a way that is extremely positive for the American people.
Joe Biden, however, has made repeated mistakes, forgotten names, and even lost his temper with voters throughout his campaign.
In the early days of his presidential campaign, Biden referred to then-Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Theresa May, as “Margaret Thatcher.” Thatcher was the British Prime Minister in the 1980s.
More recently, he used the name of a long-dead Chinese leader instead of Xi Jinping. Then, during a live debate, Biden even claimed that half of the American population had been shot dead as part of a surge in gun violence – a claim that is clearly wrong.
President Trump acknowledged the error during a town hall discussion with Fox News.

If left-wing media outlets were saying Joe Biden was too old to run in 2016, back in a time when he wasn’t showing any signs of cognitive decline, why is it no so controversial to point out that he is almost 80 years old and unfit to become president?
