(FamilyRetirementClub.com)- Joe Biden made the wild assertion on Tuesday that the Department of Justice only exonerated former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn to “divert attention” away from the ongoing Chinese coronavirus pandemic. The presumptive Democratic presidential candidate made the comments during an interview on Good Morning America, on ABC, recorded from his home office where he has been locked up for weeks.
Biden suggested that the exoneration of Flynn, who was found to have been a victim of a set-up by the FBI under the Obama administration, was an effort by President Donald Trump to divert attention away from the virus. It came just days after former audio of a phone call between former President Barack Obama and former members of his administration was obtained by Yahoo News, in which he can be heard lying about Flynn’s charges.
In the call, Obama claimed that Flynn was charged with perjury and that his exoneration was unprecedented. Flynn wasn’t charged with perjury, and his case was only dropped because evidence revealed he was being said up.
During the ABC segment with Biden, the presumptive presidential nominee for the Democrats said Trump simply wanted people to talk about something other than the “health crisis” and “economic crisis” as if these things were the president’s fault.
“I know nothing about those moves to investigate Michael Flynn, number one,” Biden told George Stephanopoulos. “Number two, this is all about diversion. This is a game this guy blames all the time. The country is in crisis. We’re in an economic crisis, a health crisis, we’re in real trouble. He should stop trying to always divert attention from the real concerns of the American people,” Biden added.
He sounds scared, doesn’t he?
“The American people are worried, with good reason,” he continued, before rambling some more. “He has acted irresponsibly from the very beginning. He continues to act irresponsibly. He hasn’t done his job. This is all about diverting attention, diverting attention from the horrible way in which he has acted with what, we don’t have coronavirus because of his, but we have the devastating impact of it because of his lack of a policy, his lack of action.”
Biden didn’t offer any specific examples of what he thought President Trump did wrong, however. The last time he did that, he was condemning the president’s decision to ban all travel from China as “xenophobia.”
