(FamilyRetirementClub.com) – Everyone knows by now that Democratic Senator Bernie Sanders is the most left-wing presidential candidate ever to run for the party. The veteran socialist has long criticized American capitalism and has even appeared to endorse Soviet Russia over the years. And now, he’s endorsing Fidel Castro.
Yes, Fidel Castro, the Cuban revolutionary and dictator responsible for destroying the nation’s economy, and known for relying heavily on arbitrary detentions to intimidate people who exercised their rights.
Real nice, Bernie!
During a clip of Sanders’ “60 Minutes” interview on CBS that was released on Sunday, Sanders defended Castro’s record. CNN news anchor Anderson Cooper approached the topic by showing Sanders a clip of an interview he did in 1985, in which he praised Castro for educating children and giving them health care, as well as totally transforming society.
Responding to the clip, Sanders said walked back his defense by saying he was opposed to the “authoritarian nature of Cuba.”
“But, you know, it’s unfair to simply say everything is bad,” he continued. “You know? When Fidel Castro came into office, you know what he did? He had a massive literacy program. Is that a bad thing? Even though Fidel Castro did it?”
Hey, Bernie, Adolf Hitler was a vegetarian who loved his mom and introduced affordable vehicles to the German people. Are you going to defend him next?
Cooper rightly noted that Cuba imprisoned many dissidents, in what some see as an attempt to curb Sanders’ appeal as he enjoys a meteoric rise to presidential candidacy.
Incredibly, Sanders managed to turn the situation around on Donald Trump, saying, “That’s right, and we condemn that. Unlike Donald Trump.”
What? Donald Trump doesn’t support dictatorships, but Bernie Sanders does!
“Let’s be clear, you want to, I do not think that Kim Jong-Un is a good friend. I don’t trade love letters with a murdering dictator. Vladimir Putin, not a great friend of mine.”
Bernie’s love for Russia only extends to the Soviet era, it appears.
Clips of Bernie Sanders defending socialist dictators and authoritarians have been released many times over the years. In February 2019, pseudo-conservative Twitter account “Reagan Battalion” released a video of Sanders in 1986, defending the Castro revolution. In the video, Sanders also explained how he felt “sick” watching JFK speak out against communism in Cuba.
See for yourself.

Does a man who literally supports breadlines really have a shot at becoming the leader of the free world?
